![]() Mozilla states that IE9 should not be considered as a modern browser, even if Microsoft claims that it is the world’s fastest browser. The browser companies are now engaged in a word war as both companies are nearing the release date of new versions of their browsers. Microsoft’s IE9 and Mozilla’s Firefox 4 will soon be out of beta and both browser makers downplay the other’s HTML5 capabilities and test results. HTML5 is not yet completed until 2014 and the World Wide Web Consortium stated that it’s too early to conclude anything from the HTML5 tests. Microsoft claims that IE9 is the fastest browser around based on their HTML5 tests but Mozilla disagrees with the assessment. They say that the conducted tests were the same tests used to design and develop the IE9. That means the browser will score high on those tests, just as the Firefox 4 will score high on Mozilla’s tests. On real world tests conducted by Caniuse.com, Firefox 4 got 84 percent compatibility with all web standards while IE9 only managed to get 61 percent. HTML5test.com has Firefox 4 at 255 compared to IE9’s 130 points. Google’s Chrome is way ahead of the pack with a score of 283 for the stable version and 293 for the beta. |
